Canadian Tractor Sales Down 5% In March, Combine Sales Down 37%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer’s monthly “Flash Report,” the sale of all tractors in Canada during March were down 5% compared to the same month last year.

For the three months in 2022, a total of 5,754 tractors were sold which compares to 5,796 sold thru March 2021 representing a .7% decrease for the year.

In March, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were down 3% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 3%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 7%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 43%.

For the three months, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are even with last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are down 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 7%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 40%.

Combine sales were down 37% for the month. Sales of combines for three months totaled 139, an decrease of 36% over the same period in 2021.
