
State and local officials gave Platinum Crush, LLC the go-ahead to develop its proposed $350 million soybean crushing plant near Alta, in Buena Vista County. The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors finalized the rezoning of the future site of the plant, which is expected to be operational in 2024.
The facility will crush 38.5 million bushels of soybeans annually, or 110,000 bushels daily. The plant will create more than 50 jobs, according to the company’s press release.
Platinum Crush will also produce soy oil that can be used for a variety of applications, including livestock feed, the human food industry, and the renewable energy segment.
