According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer’s monthly “Flash Report,” the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in September 2018, were up 2% compared to the same month last year.
For the nine months in 2018, a total of 181,515 tractors were sold which compares to 168,651 sold thru September 2017 representing an 8% increase for the year.
For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 2% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 7%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were up 30%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 51%.
For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 10% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are up 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 9%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 19%.
Combine sales were up 9% for the month. Sales of combines for the year total 3,560 compared to 2,936 in 2017, a 21% increase.
