
Condition ratings for U.S. corn and soybeans improved last week.
75% of corn is in good to excellent condition, up 1% on the week, with 97% of the crop planted, compared to the five-year average of 94%, and 89% emerged, compared to 84% on average.
72% of soybeans are called good to excellent, an improvement of 2%, and 86% of beans are planted, compared to 79% on average, and 67% has emerged, compared to 61% usually in early June.
85% of winter wheat has headed, compared to 88% on average, and 7% is harvested, matching the normal pace, with 51% rated good to excellent, unchanged from last week.
97% of spring wheat is planted and 81% has emerged, both slower than average, with 82% in good to excellent condition, up 2%.
78% of cotton is planted, compared to 81% on average, and 13% is squaring, compared to the normal pace of 10%, with 43% rated good to excellent, down 1%.
95% of rice is planted, compared to the five-year average of 98%, and 88% has emerged, compared to 93% on average, with 70% called good to excellent, 1% more than last week.
64% of sorghum is planted, compared to 60% typically this time of year and 55% is in good to excellent shape, 9% less than a week ago.
49% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent condition, 2% below the prior week.
